"Light Painting" is a participatory light installation in which visitors paint with light itself. Made in collaboration between AUN²H⁴ and oxoxo (zero by zero), it was exhibited at Lighting Objet 2013 at Tokyo Building TOKIA Galleria, Marunouchi, in December 2013.

In front of a white board lined with slots, softly glowing square cards await. Each card carries double-sided organic EL (electroluminescent) light in four colors, giving off a gentle, warm glow when picked up.

Visitors slot the cards freely into the board. Cyan, orange, green, white — with every card inserted, colored light blooms across the white surface and neighboring glows melt together. Rearrange the cards and the picture changes. During the Christmas run, visitors arranged the cards into a glowing tree.

There is no fixed final image; the picture keeps shifting in the hands of whoever is present. Anyone can become a painter of light — that is the experience the title "Light Painting" describes.
