White Dots Columns
"White Dots Columns" is an installation in which sheets of evenly-spaced white dots are wrapped around a series of cylindrical columns. As visitors walk around the columns, the angle at which the sheets overlap continuously shifts, generating and dissolving moire patterns. The direction, spacing, and character of the stripes change entirely depending on where the viewer stands.
By layering the optical phenomenon of moire onto the architectural form of the column, the gallery space itself seems to breathe and transform. No digital processing is involved — only printed dot sheets and the light that falls upon them.
