Twister
Light is placed inside an acrylic tube, and dry ice fog is introduced from below. As light and fog meet, a column of orange and red rises inside the tube — a miniature tornado, as if captured within glass.
What the viewer sees is not light itself, but the scattered traces of light on particles of mist. As the fog moves, the vortex shifts and breathes; no two moments are the same.
Created in 2009. Acrylic, dry ice, LED.
