Shinagawa Artist Exhibition 2026
oxoxo (zero by zero) took part in the "Shinagawa Artist Exhibition 2026," part of the Shinagawa Citizens' Art Festival, held at Kyurian (Shinagawa Citizens' Hall) on Saturday September 12 and Sunday September 13, 2026. Among exhibitions and art experiences by artists connected to Shinagawa, we presented the kaleidoscope installation KALEIDO LINK and the color-shifting block product SHAKE SYNC through hands-on displays and workshops — and several hundred visitors came to look, make, and play over the two days.
From small children to adults, so many people stopped by our participatory booth. Thank you to everyone who visited.

From the Venue
At KALEIDO LINK, visitors built their own small kaleidoscope from styrene board and mirrors, then peeked at the venue and the surroundings through it. The moment they looked in, the everyday scene turned into geometric patterns — and cheers went up all around the booth.
At SHAKE SYNC, visitors arranged the color-shifting light blocks to make flowers, fish, snakes, and fireworks. Every time the blocks were rearranged, the colors and light shifted, and it was wonderful to see children so absorbed in the making.
The booth also displayed prints of KALEIDO LINK views captured through the mirrors, along with a board introducing oxoxo's practice — two days that let visitors feel the idea behind the work: turning the familiar scene into a new face.

Workshop: "Peek In, the World Transforms"
A workshop to make your own KALEIDO LINK and turn the world into a kaleidoscope. Visitors assembled a small kaleidoscope from styrene board and mirrors, then peeked at the venue and surroundings — watching the everyday scene shift into unexpected patterns. Held drop-in on both days.

Mini Workshop: "Make Flowers, Fish, and Fireworks with SHAKE SYNC"
A scaled-down workshop sized for our compact booth. Visitors used SHAKE SYNC blocks to build flowers, fish, fireworks, and more — arranging and combining the blocks (whose colors change as you shake them) to create their own small scene.
