Roppongi Art Night 2014 — Senko [flash]
From the evening of April 19 to the early morning of April 20, 2014, Zero by Zero exhibited the LED installation "Senko [flash]" at Roppongi Hills 66 Plaza as part of Roppongi Art Night 2014.
Senko was an expanded version of a work first shown at the Tokushima LED Art Festival 2013, now scaled to fill the vast 66 Plaza. Stretching approximately 100 meters in total, it became the largest installation Zero by Zero had created to date.
As visitors moved through the plaza, their movements triggered bursts of LED light that raced across the space at speeds exceeding 100 km/h. When two flashes collided, an even brighter light was born — a symbol of something new emerging from the encounter. The piece asked: what is the spark that ignites creativity? That question was answered in light.
Roppongi Art Night is a free, one-night-only festival. Through the night, large crowds gathered around Roppongi Hills to experience works by artists from Japan and around the world.
